Biodata for Sale Under the Name of "Pro Membership": The Matrimonial Site Trap vs Match Media

Matrimonial pro membership data selling scam contrasted with strict privacy and zero contact reveal architecture

A few days after opening a profile on a marriage site, suddenly calls start coming from unknown numbers? Random messages, strange offers? Many people assume it's a coincidence. But the truth is, a big part of the income of most mainstream matrimonial sites comes from selling your personal information.

Of course, they don't call it "selling data." They give it a nice name, like "Pro Membership" or "Contact Unlock Package". In other words, anyone who pays a small amount for a pro subscription gets your name, family address, phone number, and photo in their hands.

1. What is really going on behind 'Pro Membership'?

Look closely at the business model of these platforms and the picture becomes clear:

  • Pay, and the information is yours: The site doesn't check whether the person paying is fit to be your life partner, or whether their background is verified. The moment money comes in, your sensitive details open up on their screen.
  • Photo downloads and screenshots: Once a profile is unlocked, full-resolution photos can be downloaded or screenshotted. Where that photo spreads afterward, nobody knows.
  • Sold to third parties: Numbers collected from this pro database are put into lists and sold to call centers, insurance companies, and marketing agencies.

Put simply: there, you are not the user. Your life story is the product they sell.

It isn't only online sites. Traditional matchmaking carries the same risk of photo and biodata leaks. Read: Gave Your Photo and Biodata to a Ghotok? Do You Know Whose Phone It's On Now?

2. How is Match Media different?

Match Media is not a data broker. From day one it was built as a Strict Privacy-First Platform. Even if someone pays, there is no way to break another person's privacy here.

A. Even pro users can't see phone numbers directly (Zero Contact Reveal)

On other platforms, paying brings the real number. On Match Media, not even a pro member can see your real number.

  • At the system level, phone numbers are always masked, like 018****5678.
  • The real number is never sent from the database to any user's browser.
  • To talk, people use the platform's own secure chat and voice calls. There is no option to buy anyone's number with money.

B. Not money, your consent has the final say (Consent Over Money)

Here, there is no rule that taking a Pro subscription lets someone see anybody's photo.

  • Profile pictures are blurred by default, at the server level.
  • Whether the viewer is a free user or a millionaire pro user, they must send a Photo Access Request to see your photo.
  • Until you Approve it from your own dashboard, nobody in the world can unlock the original photo.

C. Server-side irreversible blur (no CSS tricks)

Many sites blur photos only on the frontend. Press 'Inspect Element' and the original photo comes right out. On Match Media, photos are processed inside the server, and the original's pixels are reduced. So only the blurred file ever reaches the browser. Without permission, it is not possible to extract the original high-resolution photo from the server.

D. Trust score and identity checks

A fake user can't pay their way into benefits here. To send a message or make contact, mobile OTP, NID, and live selfie verification are mandatory. The platform checks that there is really a person behind every account.

3. Your privacy is your right, not someone's product

Looking for a life partner is a very sensitive decision. Nobody should lose the safety of their photo, phone number, or family address just because they came looking for a marriage. That is the core idea behind Match Media.

When paying is enough to hand your personal information to someone else, how safe is it to keep your biodata there? The decision is yours.

Find your partner safely and with dignity. Keep your privacy intact while searching for a life partner for yourself or your family. Visit Match Media. Always keep control of your information in your own hands.
